Do any of you Mom Snobs anxiously await the arrival of your Cookie magazine like I do? I read each issue from cover to cover. I dream of the day they double the dose so I can get it every month. Have you received the December 2007/January 2008 issue? I got mine the other day and as usual I can't read it fast enough.
Holiday attire is everywhere. The new toddler holiday couture collection from Dolce & Gabbana (p. 64) caught my attention. The four pieces (there are 16 in the entire collection) featured are exquisite: a ruffled dress, belted trench coat and petticoat, velvet suit, and A-line faille dress. Unfortunately, we can't show the pictures, so you have to get the magazine to see it for yourself. The design duo used luxurious black taffeta, satin, and velvet to create the most fabulous inspiration-only collection. In typical D&G fashion, every angle of the garments are absolute perfection. Words can’t begin to describe the magnificence. These dresses can be passed down time and again. My only disappointment lies in the color choice...black. The pieces have not one splash of color. D&G is known for less than monochromatic looks, so why burden the kids with it. Don’t get me wrong, I think black is stunning and I could not survive without my little black dress, but kids are only kids once. Let the little ones wear color while they can and want to. It won't be long before your diva learns the sliming effects of black and prefers it to pink princess hues anyway. Oh yeah, did I mention the price? Ranging from $500-$1,000, these dresses will empty the piggy bank. A smart purchase if you can avoid growth spurts for the next ten years.
