I spent all my Amex points on a fancy new Canon camera last week, 119,000 points to be exact but so worth it as iPhone photos of my little boy just aren’t cutting it anymore. But there are so many other things I need for Fall (yes NEED, not just want). I’ve put myself on a self imposed hiatus from spending any more money on bags/shoes/clothes but that doesn’t mean I can’t shop with Amex points and redeem them for gift cards or merchandise! In addition to charging everything from groceries, gasoline and phone bills to my Amex, I can now earn points just by referring friends– 5,000 points per referral ($50 value to use at Neiman Marcus, Saks and many other Amex partner retailers) as a matter of fact (that’s only 8 referrals to have enough points for the fabulous Tom Ford Madison Cat Eye Sunglasses I can not live another day without!).
