WashPOD

I do not have this and have never used it but I have gotten great feedback from friends who have it. I am just bothered by the idea of putting your tot in a bucket, but that's entirely my own mental block barrier - you know, the idea of tots plus buckets in ingrained in you as a bad thing! But I have to say, when I step back from that, this Wash Pod does make sense. You avoid the feared slippage of a traditional tub, an infant does not need a ton of water and this allows for a deeper soak without the fear of getting water in the ears. Fits up to 6 months depending on how big your tot is but once you're done, you can use it as an actual bucket! Available at Giggle for $28.

Braun Thermoscan Ear Thermometer

user-pic

braun_earthermometer.jpg

Yes, it is flu season and we try everything we can to avoid getting sick but it's impossible to be 100% vigilant. This Braun Thermometer saved my sanity when both my daughters AND my husband got sick, one after another with some overlap. I was spared, possibly because of the flu shot I got (none of them got the shot) but most likely because I am the mommy and I had to stay healthy to take care of everyone. The last thing you need to worry about is fighting with your tots over the rectal thermometer. It is just brutal. But you really need to keep a constant eye on their temperatures and there is nothing more accurate and easy than an ear thermometer. I love this thing! Every hour I would go around and get a fast and easy read (about 3 seconds), it comes with a cover but I reused the same one for each tot (and husband). You can change it easily from Celsius to Fahrenheit depending on your preference. This is a MUST for newborns and if you are still using mercury, you cannot wait another day, get this NOW!! At Amazon for $69.

Fish N Flush Toilet Tank Aquarium

user-pic

fishnflush.jpg

I am starting to potty train my 2 1/2 year old and I am seriously considering getting this toilet fish tank to entice her to go. I mean, who wouldn't be drawn in by a real fish tank in the toilet??! This somehow fits with your existing 2 piece toilet and still allows you to flush as usual. And yes, without flushing the fish =) You can get it with or without LED lighting, which is a total bonus, bathroom night light!! The Fish 'n Flush Toilet-Tank Aquarium Kit is $224 with LED lighting and $199 without. I'm not sure if Sponge Bob is included. Thanks Steph for sending this to me!

I don't want to sound ungenerous but this might be nicer to receive than give. Trust me, if someone gave this to me, I would be extremely grateful and happy! If you have someone really special to buy for this season, this would be exceptional and an heirloom that will be cherished. The Hermes Comb and Brush Set in sterling silver, ash bristles and leather tab has all the tradition of Hermes, for $670.

Mustela Products

By Tot Snob Jori Shapiro

Mustela products are really fantastic. I used the Mustela Stretch Mark Double Action cream through all three pregnancies and never got a mark. Recently, I have had just as good experience with their PhysiObebe No-Rinse Cleansing Fluid and Facial Cleansing Cloths. My third child had the worst baby acne. Most baby acne is gone as quickly as it appears, but this looked like an adolescent break out. I was reluctant to use the face wash because some days I have a hard time squeezing in my own cleansing routine let alone that of a two month old. PhysiObebe is great because of its no rinse formula. Just rub a little on your baby's face and you are done. In a matter of three uses, my little one had her porcelain skin back. The pump worked better in our case. It is slightly more concentrated than the cloths. However, the cloths are very convenient. I keep a pack in the car to clean dirt, ice cream, or anything else my older kids have on their hands and faces. The Mustela PhysiObebe No-Rinse Cleansing Fluid is $13.95 and the Mustela Facial Cleansing Cloth are $7.00 at Amazon.

Stephen Joseph Buddy Bag

My toiletry bag is very special to me, it is what keeps me sane and feeling secure when I'm traveling. OK, I might have some unresolved issues but the point is, I like to have my things with me and this is especially important when traveling with tots. You must have all their medication, bandaids, nail trimmer, boo boo fixers, etc. because we all know what will happen if you forget!! You must have a very special toiletry bag for all this "Can't leave home without" items and these Stephen Joseph Buddy Bags are the most super adorable things ever. They are terry exterior with your favorite animal friend on it but the interior is lined with polyester so you won't have to worry about spills. I have a terry toiletry bag and it holds up pretty well. I said, "pretty well" because of course it won't last forever, about a couple of years if you travel a lot. But you've got your money's worth by then. Choose from a variety of designs but my favorites are the Duck Buddy Bag for the appropriateness of theme and the Monkey Buddy Bag Monkey because, who doesn't love monkeys? Approx. 7" x 7.5" x 5.5" , for $21.99 at Amazon.

Pure and Little, Like Our Tots

user-pic

pureandlittle_sadiecoat.pngpureandlittle_bubble.png

pureandlittle_frog.pngFinally, an all organic line that is stylish and hip enough for the snobbiest fashionista! Look at the bright and gorgeous print on the Sadie Coat ($200), you don't normally get that kind of bold color on organic clothes! It's always dull and bland. This is the kind of coat tots love to wear, it is breathable and light and won't impede their active lifestyles. For our smaller tots, the Baby Bubble ($70) with bow details is as cute as they come. One piece is the easiest for little squirmers but this is dressy and has the feel of a dress. Put a ruffled collar onesie underneath for a nice day out. Pure & Little also has a bath line - this little guy has stolen my heart, a terry cloth frog with a removable robe ($16)! I love him! Your tot can cuddle with him as scrubs and cleans. Friends of Tot Snob get 20% OFF with code SNOB20 at checkout, valid through July 9.

Little Giraffe Luxe Blanket and Towel

user-pic

littlegiraffe_dotsblankets.jpglittlegiraffe_hoodedtowel.jpg

This isn't some huge discovery but if you do not own Little Giraffe, I feel it is my duty to convince you otherwise. These are by far the most amazing and luxurious blankets and towels you can buy for your tot. I have given these away as gifts and everyone says agrees they are their favorites - the only time they are out of commission is when they are in the hamper. These blankets are so extremely soft! Softer than Barefoot Dreams if you can believe it. It is Baby Shower season so even though it seems boring, these make amazing gifts that will be well used and dearly loved. The Little Giraffe Blanket Luxe Dot is $78. Little Giraffe Luxe Dot Hooded Towel have cute bear ears and are $44 each. Available at Layla Grace.

Hare Baby Comb and Brush Set

user-pic

harecare_front.jpgharecarebrushset.jpg

This is the cutest comb and brush set and it makes perfect sense. It looks like a hare, has 2 ears and is for hair! How clever is that? And besides, having a place to replace the comb and brush will encourage your tot to do so. Just tell her that the bunny will be missing his ears if you lose the set (but just in case, they sell a replacement set for $10)! This is such a great gift, I am for sure including it in my next baby shower gift basket. At Skip Hop for $20.

Summer Infant Step-By-Step Potty

user-pic

stepbysteppotty.jpg

I agree there are more fun and cuter potties but this does the job and has real toilet paper as well as a wipe dispenser. That might not seem like a lot but it counts for a lot when you have one less thing to worry about while potty training. I have the fun mission of training my younger tot this summer, she is already enrolled for pre-school so this has to go smoothly. I made the mistake of getting mad at my older tot while potty training, which is a big no-no. I learned my lesson and hopefully it will be easy peasy the second time around (wish me luck!!). I like this potty because it works like a real potty instead of one that acts like a toy. It's important for them to understand that business needs to be taken care of on this thing, it is not a toy! It even comes with a step stool for the big potty when they are ready to graduate to the real thing. Summer Infant Step-By-Step Potty Trainer And Step Stool at Amazon for $29.99.
