How cute is this for a gift or baby shower favor? And it's ironic =) I love the idea of turning something foul into a wonderful scent. Use it when you are relaxing in your in home spa (your respite bath) or more appropriately, next to the diaper trash can to freshen the room! The blend is White Linden Blooms, Tuberose, Red grapefruit and Tonka beans. Sounds delightful! At Babychix for $30.

I just hosted another baby shower this weekend. This was #5, I have it down to a science now and have a closet devoted to all the props and decor necessary for either gender. Most people just expect the expected but I always want to do something different and the favors is one area I can't duplicate, so I go all out. I found a retail website with truly unique favors, like the "It's About Time - Baby is Brewing" Teapot Timer, comes in a pack of 10 for $57.25. These are something everyone can use in their kitchen and these come in a box with organza ribbon, which saves you time and money, as well as look great being displayed. Another adorable and useful favor is the "Like Peas In A Pod" Salt and Pepper Shakers, set of 10 for $55. These are hand-painted ceramic and are perfect for a tea or luncheon. Comes in an ivy print box with a clear window to show the contents.
Need some ideas for your dad (or baby daddy)? Here are some great gifts I came across that might fit the bill for your man. I'm trying to stay away from the traditional but you know, men are kind of easy and predictable so so are some of my ideas =)
The Polaroid 300 Instant Camera ($89.99) is just a really cool thing to have for everyone. I mean, who ever prints out pictures anymore? Much less, instantly! Remember how fun it used to be with a Polaroid in the house? Bring it to your next party and be the center of attention and the highlight of the night! These are business card size pictures at 1.8" x 2.4" image size. There are 4 light settings to ensure you get the perfect image.
For the music lover, the Oscar Schmidt Acoustic Electric Auto Harp ($429) can be enjoyed by all. Anyone can play this, there are 21 chords built in, you just push the button and strum and voila - music to your ears! This is the perfect gift for dads with little tots because they are able to strum the harp and play actual chords. They can enjoy a fun little jam session without having to take a single music class!!
Of course not everyone wants Trojan gear (but why?) but Nike has a full array of collegiate gear. Get a matching set like the adorable USC Trojans Little Girl's Cheerleader Dress ($29.99) paired with a Trojans T-Shirt
($17.99).
I love fashion dads, they are those who used to be metro-sexuals but no longer qualify in that category once they got married =) This Urban Backpack from M0851 ($400) is cool and chic and the perfect backpack for any outing. It even comes with a diaper changing pad that can be doubled as a seat cushion for stadium seats! How cool is that? The front compartment has slots for all his gadgets and a detachable key clip! Now you won't be the one having to carry everything in your big bag!!
Apparently, the World Cup is coming up. I am a huge sports fan but the only thing interesting to me about soccer is the hot players!! But soccer is the biggest sport in the world and there are bound to be fans in your family. Ralph Lauren has a line of polo shirts so he can show his allegiance to his favorite team. Slim Modern Field Country Polo are $135.
As a fun little gag gift to throw into the gift box, these Dress for Dinner Dapper Tie Paper Napkins ($5.95) are a total hoot! This is perfect for my husband because he refuses to wear ties, ever!! Have these handy for your next "formal" dinner. Comes in 4 tie designs.

Over the weekend I went to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the Javits Center mostly to see the fruits of Hugh Hayden (the designer/architect behind FUNature), and designer/architect Katie Vitale's latest creation, FRAMEicariums -- but ended-up spotting some additional fun finds along the way. With FRAMEicariums, Hayden and Vitale have turned childhood ant-farms into living works of art that showcase the geological excavations of the tunnels formed by ants against a variety of landscapes, vintage magazine tear-outs, and other one-of-a-kind framed images. They will be available for purchase online as of May 19. More finds after the jump!
You should wait until your tot is 2 to eat sushi, but for washcloth sushi, it is appropriate at any age! I know you have the perfect person to give this to. What a fantastic shower gift, you will be the talk of the party. To make it more fun, you should bring real sushi to share with the grown ups =) You can choose from a tray of nigiri sushi that comes with finger puppets, wash clothes and real chopsticks all on a reusable plate, for $44.95. If you prefer to order "a la carte", get the Cut Sushi Pieces, 4 pieces $26.95 and 8 pieces $54.95 - these are each an individual wash cloth with grosgrain seaweed ribbon.
Interesting. For such a blingy binky, shouldn't the tot be smiling instead of scowling? Or maybe she is appropriately annoyed at such a tacky thing? I think the latter. This Crystal Pacifier ($120) may be kind of funny to buy as a gift but who would buy this for their own tot? And even weirder, on the Vivre site, it says that it is the "perfect choice for stylish mini metrosexuals". WHAT??!! Ok, that is disturbing. Maybe the money should go toward much needed therapy.
Get your annual picture framed for the Spring in a personalized bunny frame! This make a perfect gift but is also a great way to have your favorite picture framed for the mantel. You can never have enough pictures around the house and this sterling silver is understated and elegant for any decor. Personalize with your last name for a family photo, or a date for a special event. Or with the Easter Bunny! Although those usually turn out pretty creepy. At Saks Fifth Avenue for $202.00

I couldn't imagine turning a photo of myself -- Andy Warhol-style -- into a piece of artwork, but when it comes to immortalizing a photo of a loved one, that's a whole other story! Me Art is an online site that lets you turn photos of your tot (or any loved one), into custom works of art printed on premium, artist-grade, archival canvas, which is ready for hanging. You can either have a work of art created based on a photo -- just take a regular photo of your child and then choose from six artist-inspired styles (prices range from $285 for a 12"x12" piece, to $665 for a 42"x42" piece). Alternatively you can create Me Art from your tot's artwork! The site uses your child's artwork as the background and then you choose to have your child's initial or full name printed on top ($75 for an 8'x8' single block version). The more elaborate options take either 25 images (12"x12" at $245) or 49 images (18"x18" at $325) of your tot's artwork, along with his or her photo and name and turns it into a truly unique collage.
I smell a Mother's Day splurge....

I See Me has the most precious personalized books, I have all of them, so I am really excited about their new, "Who Loves Me" title.
